This was my third trip in a row to Alberta, Canada and I was determined to hold out for a whopper as my outfitter Claudio Ongaro likes to say. My first year with Claudio I left with a 130 class whitetail, my second year a 150 class, and this year a 160 plus class buck. The hunt began like so many before, with the e-mails full of trail cam photos from Claudio excited to show me this year’s talent pool. So many pictures of 140’s on up is enough to make any whitetail hunter’s heart start to beat just a little bit faster….
